This rotating topics class explores emergent forms of new media production. Emphasis is on the creative and expressive use of technology in contemporary art. Current topics include: locative art, food technology, and wearable technology.

Food and Scent Project
The class learns about local foodways, the chemistry of smell and taste, and relation between nutrition and bodies, and after viewing these topics through the lens of contemporary art experiment with food as a point of departure for art making and inspiration. Students’ projects reflect upon the technology of food and scent as media for art making and the economic and political systems that inform our relationship to food.
